Ribbon Tweeter integration?

I am interested in hearing some ribbons.
My past gear experiences so far have shown that I should just 'go for it' and get the TOTL (so to speak) within my price range.
The G1's could be within my reach with the sale of some gear.
They would replace GPA 902-16A 's, currently residing on Dayton 12 conical waveguides. (or 511's, or Emilar EH800's). I have not tried the 800's yet.
MR is a 288-16k on a small mouth Altec CD horn. (size is ~ 1ft x 1ft)
Unable to track down the exact model so far.
I'd expect to need to pad down the 288 somehow, which I do already for the LF via N-1285(A?) attenuation settings, or tri-amp.
I would expect to cross between 7khz and 12khz
My (initial) understanding is that ribbon output is (broadly speaking) essentially flat - but that lower crossover points drag down the output ratings... so perhaps with a high enough XO, I will not need to pad down the 288 as much?
Anybody think it's a terribly bad idea, specifically that model or in principle?
My particular concern at this point is the vertical pattern, my impression (without any doc) is that it is 20?.
For wider vertical dispersion, might I acheive similar sensativity by using 2 of the lesser (cost and sensativity) models, in different orientations?
Supposedly the ESS Heil AMT is to be reissued asap via PE. I know of no specs on it yet - awaiting the reissue, or even if it should be included in a 'ribbon' discussion.
cheers and thanks for any input!

Re: Ribbon Tweeter integration?
I added a JBL 077 slot tweeter and x-over to an Altec VOTT system in the 1970s that worked resonably well. I beleive the cross was at 7K or so.
Anyway, some have observed that the Altec compresssion drivers are a tad thin up top but others dissagree.
I assume your biggest obsticle will be matching (addressing) the sensativities of the drivers since most ribbons, I beleive, have a fairly low rating.

Thanks for the input.
The G1 mentioned is spec'd at 102db.
The current GPA 902 is spec'd 105.7db (but rating is for the band 1.2khz - 5khz).
Difficult to imagine whether it is worth the cost to experiment.
